Paula Money was instructed to prepare and submit a supporting transport and parking appraisal for an application which related to the change of use of a residential dwelling into a dental surgery. The application had been submitted to Melton Borough Council and during the process of the application a number of objections were received from nearby residents and the ward Councilor regarding the parking for the site and the likely increase in on street parking and concerns were also raised by the Planning Officer.

The application proposal only provided for two on site customer parking spaces and the concerns related to the likely increase in on street parking and the effect that this would have on highway safety and residential amenity. A detailed and thorough parking appraisal was prepared and submitted to the Council for consideration which provided justification for the minimal parking provision on site and also outlined measures to overcome the concerns alternative parking arrangements off site and green travel planning measures.

Following the receipt of the submitted transport and parking appraisal, these concerns were alleviated, the application was recommended for approval at committee and was subsequently approved by the Members
